Pink Lady

Hello again! Hope you all are enjoying the last bits of summer. I know I plan to sieze every last little moment of summer fun I can get. For those of you who don't know I througholy enjoy my summer and can never get enough of warm sunshine on my face. You'll never hear me say I'm ready for summer to be over... nope!

I have yet to return to pants and have been rockin only dresses and skirts for the past few months. I figure I might as well since I'm gonna have cover my legs in the comming months. But til then on with the leg show!

So I copped this little number like 2yrs ago and have ben enjoying it quite often. I love this dress because it's actually quite plain. A simple v-neck short sleeved dress. The bright pink color is what sucked me in at first then when I tried it on and realized it had pockets... sold.

I had just bought this scarf like 2 weeks ago and had been waiting for the right outfit to throw it on with (I know I'm not the only one who waits to wear something new til just the right outfit comes along). I figured this was a perfect pairing since the dress is low cut and I tend to wear a cami under it most times.

Then I belted it and threw on a few other accesories, curled my hair for a nice little change, did my makeup and I was set.

2011 MTV VMA's: Men

I had to show some love to the men who looked fashionably chic at the VMA's... gotta love a man who knows how to dress.

Kevin Hart Kevin looked incredibly stylish in an Yves Saint Laurent belt, Acne jeans, Lanvin sneakers and an amazing Helven Leather Jacket by A.L.C. Love the whole look for h to t as Tyra would say.

Neyo had a super stylish urban dapper look for the night. I really like his brown sweater with the gold specs all over. He polished things off by adding his signature fedora.

Swizz Beatz always looks for effortlessly cool and stylish. I think if I were a boy I would definitely be referencing this man for some style inspiration.

Kanye West opted not to walk to carpet but still looked stylish and very "Yezzy-centric" when he appeared on stage. He wore an ombre dyed shirt from Theyskens for Theory’s Resort 2012 collection with jeans and his own shoe design grey”Watermelon” Nike Air Yeezy 2′s.

2011 MTV VMA's: Ladies

Here are some of my fav look from Sunday nights MTV VMA Awards...

First up as she should be is Beyonce, looking flawless as always. I love the bright orange color against her skin. The expectant mom to be looked spectacular to the fullest in her Lanvin Fall 2011 gown.

Katy Perry worked her quirky magic and came out on top with her asian inspired Fall 2011 Atelier Versace look. I love how playful and fun Katy always looks while still being chic and fashionable.

Kim Kardashian or should I say Kim Humphries is one fashionista who never looks bad on the red carpet. Sunday night was no different.

Demi Lovato looked georgus and kinda reminded me of a mini J.Lo in her Mandalay body con dress and metal toed Christian Louboutin heels. Hard to believe she's only 19.

Miss Kelly Rowland had on of my fav looks of the night. She let her inner diva shine with this Fall 2011 Falguni & Shane Peacock dress. Again I'm loving the gold on black. It's sooo chic!

Zoe Saldana definitly brought the sexy in her deep v in her Barbara Bui Fall 2011 dress. I love those gold embellishments and printed wedges!

Kat Deluna looked lovely as well in a textured one shoulder body con dress. Love the black heels with a hint of neon pink.

Katie Holmes looked rather cute n sassy in this Azzedine Alaia halter dress. This look was unexpected but I quickly came to like it.

Lil Mama looked pretty in this sparkly little number. It was nice to see her in a dress for once.

Last is once of my fav young starlets Selena Gomez. She may be young but her fashion is not. Selena has been on her game this whole year with look after look of fabness. She kills it here in a Julien MacDonald gown paired with gold Brian Atwood heels.

British Invasion

Hey Guys,

So the other day I was really feelin in the mood for somethin different. Since I've been wearing skirts and dresses non stop this summer I thought pants and a tee were in order. I immediately thought of this british flag shirt that I bought a few months ago. I had still never worn it and I thought today was the perfect day to break it out. I love how the sleeves have the cut out details on them. I didn't want anything to distract from the shirt, which is why I choose black tights. I keep getting a rocker vibe from this t-shirt everytime I look at it.

In my head I was also doing a little tribute to Amy Winehouse. She was one of my fav artists from the moment I first heard her voice and I always had faith in her and hoped she would pull it together. I was so upset when I heard about her death. This outfit made me think of her just because of the flag. Since I was thinking of Amy I had to wear my hair up in a mini beehive style and wear cat eyes. You can't see my makeup because of my glasses but trust me the cat eyes are there. I'll try and remember to do better with more closeups next time to show the details.

A Day In The Park

Hey Guys,

For this shoot I headed to the park. Another beautiful day deserved another shoot outside. Since it was still pretty hot I picked out a denim mini skirt. I went with this one because it has this really pretty yellow and blue stitching all around the bottom. It kinda reminds me of a New Mexico western type theme with the way the stitching is and the color combo of the thread. Next I picked the grey shirt. The small puffed upped shoulders are so fun and of the moment. I really love the puffed shoulder trend but since it was day time I had to keep the poufiness to a minimum. The back has this really amazing cut out detail that gives a nice little surprise when I turn around. Love! I paired a yellow tank top under the grey shirt to play off the yellow stitching in the skirt.

Then I paired this multi colored chain necklace to really stand out. Normally I don’t like to do big necklaces like this during the day but the color paired up so nicely I had to try it out. I’m glad I did cuz I think big necklaces and day time go really well together when paired with the right outfit. This is one of my fav necklaces I love whenever I get a chance to wear it. I added some big ol gold hoop earrings, some metallic beaded sandals and I was good to go.

I fly I fly high I'm blazin...

My photographer told me to put my hand like like this.
When I asked why she said just wait... you'll see.

Hey guys,

This day was so lovely it sounded like a good idea to do a shoot by the water, it felt so nice with the cool breeze blowing. So it was perfect that I was already in the mood to class things up a little. I figured why not add a blazer. Blazers are probably one of the easiest ways to add a touch of sophistication to any look. They just make your entire outfit seem more pulled together instantly. And a white blazer for the summer is a perfect way to keep cool but still be covered, they’re also a great substitution for cardigans. Plus if you were the blazer buttoned it pulls you in right where a belt would. The blazer I’m wearing is made from linen which is such a great material for hot summer days if you don’t mind the wrinkles.

I threw the blazer over this floral printed strapless tube dress. I didn’t get any full body shots so you can’t see my shoes but I was wearing the same red wedges from the previous post. You can see em here.

Thanks to Iiona for the pics!

Fun with Trains

Hey all,

I’m baaacckk! Sorry for my delayed absence, life’s been pretty hectic for me. I moved into a new apt, finished up school for the summer, got a new job, and did a bunch of other little things. You know how life gets in the way, there’s always somethin. But now that things have settled some I’m back to bloggin, and I got say I’ve really missed doing updates and showcasing outfits.

This is a photo shoot that I did with my wonderful friend and resident photographer Iiona a couple of weeks ago. We were in search of a cool place with graffiti in the background so we decided to head down to some train tracks. There really wasn’t as much graffiti as I had hoped for and it was pretty hot that day so I’m not sure why I choose pants. Especially since I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve worn pants this summer including these. But I wore them so I had to just go with it.

I got this red plaid shirt about a year or so ago. I love it cuz the dark red plaid seems very manly but the ruffles on the front make it girly and feminine. Plus it’s slightly sheer which makes it really lightweight. Then I paired the skinny leg jeans and red wedges.
