Dear Spring

Dear Spring,

I've caught a glimpse of you here and there over the past few weeks. I love the way your sunshine warms my face, everything is better with you around. Please come back I miss you.

Love Alicia

It has been rain central here the past two weeks and I hadn't been wearing anything too exciting. Almost May an still not that warm outside, it feels more like fall than spring. Well I took it upon myself to bring a little bit of spring to my outfits and offset some of this gloomy weather. On one of the non rainy days I was able to show a little leg so I decided on this pink pleated dress and periwinkle colored cardi.  I love the color combo and how it's not overly bright when paired together. This outfit inspired my little letter above, kind of an ode to spring.

Also you may have noticed my hair cut, I got it done earlier in the week. It's the first time I've worn my hair this short in years. But every so often I need a big change cause I can never stay the same for too long. I'm still getting used to no more side pony's but I'm commin around.

Snow in April

I wore this outfit this past Saturday when I was running errands because it was snowing! I thought it was all over but I guess there are still a few more snowfalls yet. Oh well, it gave me a chance to wear my boots again as well as this great sweater. I love the asymmetry and how floppy it is, it’s also really comfy and warm. Which was my goal for the day to stay warm and be comfy (actually being comfy it my goal most days).

I saw this sweater at when it first came out around November but I had been trying to save $ and not spend so I never bought it. Then I was browsing one day while waiting to for my car to be fixed and found the sweater on sale. It only cost me $30, pretty good. I knew as soon as I tried it on I wanted to pair it with some skinny jeans and black boots. So I guess it’s good that it snowed on Saturday, I got the chance to wear this outfit before summer comes.

How u doin??

I showed this outfit to my sister and she said it reminded her of something Wendy Williams would wear. I'll take that cause the woman wears some great outfits. To that I also say "How you doinnnn?" (in my Wendy Williams voice).

I wore this one day to work last week because it was in the 60's on the day I wore it. I love love love this bright multi colored cardigan. I just happen to go in Old Navy on one of those random shopping days where I found both the dress and cardi on sale (score for me), I really like how the dress has subtle pleating around the neckline. Since I was goin to work I decided to keep the rest of the outfit neutral as a way to balance out the bright cardi.

Ruffles n Plaid

I wore this couple of weeks ago when it was finally starting to be warm enough to wear skirts again (yaaay).  I had to wear the boots because even though it was warmer it wasn't that warm and I felt like I needed something covering my legs a little. I love the ruffles on this shirt, it gives the whole outfit a girly touch. Sorry for the short post I'm in a bit of a rush today, lots of errands.

Male Mannequin

Yesterday I got to give out fashion advice to people at a job fair about what's best to wear to an interview, can I just say... YAY!!! I love talking about fashion and being able to help people become as fashionable as they can no matter what your budget. It was so much fun and I felt like I really helped some people. The guy in the second pic came in and was dressed soo cute we made him our male mannequin for the day cause we didn't have one. We all loved his outfit, a great example of what guys can wear to an interview. My friend Lacey (on the far left) looked amazing, her 3 layers of clothing the blazer, collared shirt and sweater vest including a skinny blue belt made her look perfect for an interview or any other business situation. I loved her entire outfit from head to toe. What a great day I can't wait to do more stuff like that in the future.
